The daughter of a puppeteer and a physicist, Emmeline grew up in a television-free household surrounded by books. She is trained as a barber and holds degrees in costume design and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. After enjoying a successful career as a theatrical wig maker at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, she has now turned her attention to illustrating full-time. When she’s not knee deep in colored pencils she can be found wrangling her horde of kids, dreaming of taking a nap, or eating bacon. She is available for school presentations, art workshops, or lessons in wig making. If she could be any animal in the world, she would be a gorilla. She now lives in Southern California (and yes, California, you do have delicious avocados.)
